McCall Winter Carnival

This past Tuesday my friend Loni and I loaded up and headed north to the McCall Winter Carnival for our annual day trip.

This year we have received a lot of snow in the mountains making the ride there and back breathtaking.

Our first stop is always the Pancake House in McCall.  The food and drinks are always really good and the giant cinnamon rolls are a must!   They melt in your mouth and are freshly bake, seriously they are to die for!

After we were fat and happyl we headed out to get a newspaper with a map on the back of it to all the snow sculptures.  We mapped out our course and took off.  It is always fun to see the sculptures while we catch up and just enjoy being outside.

The weather was perfect and there were almost no crowds.  We even saw a couple deer who were hanging out right in town.

It was crazy to see how deep the snow was in places, and the snow mounds they had made from plowing were small mountain that were often bigger than the buildings around them.

I loved all the icicles hanging off the roofs and in places there were what I called snow waves coming off the roofs.

We even were brave enough to venture out on the frozen lake and slide down a hill on our butts for fun.

For lunch we went to a pizza place call the Blue Moose which is one of our favorite placed to eat.

Overall it may have been my favorite day trip to McCall for the Carnival yet.
